What is Ski for MS?
Ski for MS is the only national event series that combines skiing and fundraising to empower people with MS. With nine events located in the nation’s top ski resorts, Ski for MS offers on-mountain and après ski activities for people of all ages and ability levels. Funds raised at these events support Can Do MS and our educational programs on exercise, nutrition, and symptom management to inspire long-lasting change for those with MS and their families to help them thrive.
What kind of on-snow activities are there?
TONS! Each mountain features an amateur ski race as well as the Jimmie Heuga Memorial Ski Down. If that isn’t enough for your fun meter, there are a variety of other activities including photo scavenger hunts, poker runs, and obstacle courses to round out the day! Visit the Ski for MS homepage and click on the mountain icon to see the event schedule!
What if a friend is participating and I just want to come to the after party?
Definitely! We welcome all people to join the fun, mingle with friends, and learn about Can Do MS! Visit the Ski for MS homepage and click on the mountain for schedules and locations. Note: Schweitzer Mountain hosts a dinner with tickets available for purchase.
Am I required to fundraise to participate?
No, participate for only $25! But, if you want to make a bigger impact, fundraisers do have the chance to win some pretty cool prizes!
To be a fundraising participant, how much do I need to raise?
Each mountain has a different fundraising minimum! Visit the Ski for MS homepage and click on the mountain of your choice to see fundraising details and prizes!
Can I have a team?
YES! We love team spirit! Each person fundraises as an individual, however, you can also join or create a team when you register. There is no limit to the number of team members you can have! Recruit your friends or co-workers of any age or ability.
How old do I have to be to participate?
All ages are welcome! Start a team and bring out the family for a great day of fun! Note: Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the liability waiver.
How do I register online?
Registration is easy! You can register using your Facebook page, or a personal email address. Click here to be directed to the Ski for MS homepage. From there, choose the mountain you want to participate at and follow the prompts to get started!
Who can participate in the ski race?
Every Ski for MS registrant and fundraiser may race as either an individual or part of a team. Winners from a variety of categories will receive prizes and bragging rights.
Do I have to be a good skier or boarder to participate in the race?
NOPE! This is about FUNdraising, camaraderie, and enjoying the day with friends, old and new. Don’t miss the opportunity for a little team competition with friends on the race course! On-snow performance is rewarded with prizes, but so is fundraising, so don’t let your snowplow keep you from joining in the fun! All on-mountain activities are optional but don’t miss out!
