Squaw Valley, Calif. • August 24, 2012 – Mark your calendar! The 24th Annual Alpen Wine Festival will be held Sunday, September 2, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Village at Squaw Valley. All event proceeds benefit Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a national nonprofit organization and innovative provider of lifestyle empowerment programs for people with MS and their support partners. Tickets are $40 and will include a commemorative crystal wine glass, a variety of wine tastings featuring over 40 vineyards, live music and access to the silent auction room full of wine, lodging packages and art pieces.
Tickets for the festival will go on sale at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at The Village at Squaw Valley. The majority of wines served at the event can also be purchased at Uncorked at Squaw located in The Village at Squaw Valley.
“Last year Alpen Wine Fest raised more than $19,000 for our lifestyle empowerment programs. Fundraising events such as this one allow us to bring free programs to Northern California and Nevada for people and families living with MS,” said Heidi A. Heltzel, President and CEO at Can Do MS.
In 2011, Can Do MS helped 14,000 people living with MS and their support partners through online and in-person programs and online services. Can Do MS held 14 in-person programs in California and Nevada, which helped reach 880 people living with MS in the past 8 years.
