    The Power of Volunteering

As a nonprofit organization, Can Do MS relies heavily on the support and enthusiasm of committed volunteers to help us organize our diverse fundraising events and promote our lifestyle empowerment programs.  Events like the Vertical Express for Can Do MS, the Jimmie Heuga Memorial Golf Tournament and the Annual Autumn Benefit in New York City all rely on the efforts of our volunteers.

Since it was founded in 1984, Can Do MS has had strong support from the skiing community. In 1985 ten volunteers skied a 24-hour marathon in Alyeska, Alaska, setting a world record and raising $250,000. Since then volunteers have been the backbone of the Vertical Express for Can Do MS event series, now in its 26th successful year.

    Imagine the Possibilities

With a little bit of innovation and resourcefulness, anyone can raise funds for Can Do MS without having to host a big event. From yard sales and bake sales, to efforts like creating and selling family or neighborhood cook books, the possibilities are endless.
