We are excited to announce our Vail Vertical Express on Saturday, February 8th was a huge success, forging new relationships and creating many new memories! Over 180 people joined us on the mountain to celebrate the 50th Anniversary (to the day) of when our founder Jimmie Heuga and his good friend and teammate Billy Kidd became the first American men to medal in the Olympics on February 8th,1964 in Innsbruck, Austria.

To help us celebrate, Vail mountain renamed a ski run to “Jimmie Heuga Express” for the day! Billy Kidd along with Jimmie’s three sons Wilder, Blaze and Winston led a memorial ski down to honor and remember our founder. Participants also enjoyed an on-mountain scavenger hunt, slalom racing and après party where Winston Heuga’s bluegrass band, 10th Mountain Division, cranked out some tunes!
We raised $33,383 (and counting…) at the Vail event and are looking forward to our next three Vertical Express for Can Do MS events at Squaw Valley, CA and Crystal Mountain, WA on March 1st and Schweitzer Mountain, ID on March 8th!
