    What is Vertical Express for Can Do MS?

    Vertical Express for Can Do MS is the only national event series that combines skiing and fundraising to empower people with MS. With seven events located in the nation’s top ski resorts, Vertical Express offers on-mountain and apres ski activities for people of all ages and ability levels. Funds raised at these events support lifestyle empowerment programs with people with MS and their support partners. Participants are not required to fundraise, but if you do, you get great VIP treatment and prizes! Register Here.

    What kind of on-snow activities are there?

    TONS! Each mountain features an amateur ski race known as the Vertical Express Cup as well as the Jimmie Huega Memorial Ski Down. If that isn’t enough for your fun meter, there are a variety of other activities including photo scavenger hunts, poker runs, and obstacle courses to round out the day!     What if a friend is participating and I just want to come to the after party?

    Definitely! We welcome all people to join the fun! Separate après party tickets can be purchased for each event. Visit the Vertical Express homepage and click on the mountain to purchase your ticket!

    Can I volunteer for the event?

    YES! We rely heavily on volunteer support. Please contact Becca Aliber via email at baliber@mscando.org or call 888 – DO IT 4MS ext. 1292.

    Am I required to fundraise to participate?

    No, participate for only $25! But, if you want to make a bigger impact, fundraisers do have the chance to win some pretty cool prizes!

    To be a fundraising participant, how much do I need to raise?

    Each mountain has a different fundraising minimum! Visit the Vertical Express homepage and click on the mountain of your choice to see fundraising details and prizes!

    Can I have a team?

    YES! We love team spirit! Each person fundraises as an individual, however, you can also join or create a team when you register. There is no limit to the number of team members you can have! Recruit your friends or co-workers of any age or ability.

    How old do I have to be to participate?

    All ages are welcome! Start a team and bring out the family for a great day of fun! Note: Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the liability waiver.

    How do I register online?

    Registration is easy! You can register using your Facebook page, or a personal email address. Click here to be directed to the Vertical Express homepage. From there, choose the mountain you want to participate at and follow the prompts to get started!

    What is the Vertical Express Cup?

    The Vertical Express Cup is a signature activity in the Vertical Express series. Every Vertical Express registrant and fundraiser may race as either an individual or part of a team. The Vertical Express Cup is divided into two races: the Pro Cup and the Beer Cup. Sign up for the Pro Cup to race against your region’s top competitors! Sign up for the Beer Cup for more relaxed competition! Winners from a variety of categories will receive prizes and bragging rights. The fastest team wins the Vertical Express Cup, as well as their name displayed on a plaque at your host mountain!

    Do I have to be a good skier or boarder to race in the Vertical Express Cup?

    NOPE! This is about FUNdraising, camaraderie, and enjoying the day with friends, old and new. Don’t miss the opportunity for a little team competition with friends on the race course! On-snow performance is rewarded with prizes, but so is fundraising, so don’t let your snowplow keep you from joining in the fun! All on-mountain activities are optional but don’t miss out!     Where does the money go?

    Funds raised through the Vertical Express for Can Do MS benefit Can Do MS’s lifestyle empowerment programs for people with MS and their support partners, and help provide scholarships for those unable to pay for these unique programs. Can Do MS is a national, nonprofit organization based in Avon, CO. Donations are tax-deductible.
