Vertical Express for MS is a series of on-snow events and activities for skiers, boarders and telemarkers of all ages and abilities.  Teams of three participate in a variety of on-snow events at host ski resorts around the country to raise money for Can Do MS’s lifestyle empowerment programs. Teams must raise a minimum of $1,000 ($333 per person) in order to participate. Each event is as unique as the host mountain itself. Event participants receive a free lift pass, goody bag, food & beverages. Additional prizes are based on dollar amounts raised by participants. Teams who raise $15,000 or more earn a trip to April Awards in Vail, CO.

Vote to Refresh Can Do MS with a $50,000 Grant from Pepsi – And Spread the Word (End August 31, 2010)
Can Do MS’s Vertical Express for MS in Big Sky, MT  is in the running for a $50,000 grant from Pepsi and needs your votes! Pepsi is awarding $1,300,000 each month to fund great ideas that will have a positive impact around the country.

During this celebration April Awards participants gathered together for the Carry the Torch Ski Down in honor of Can Do MS founder Jimmie Heuga.  The Carry the Torch Ski Down consisted of about 75 skiers/boarders carrying symbolic torches in a group run down the Vail mountain. Skiers did this to remember and honor Jimmie as well as to show that the can do spirit will be carried on. Participants kept their torches and were seen skiing with them throughout the weekend and during Vail moutain’s closing day.
