Oct. 12, 2010 - Edwards, Colo. - As part of Can Do MS's promise to honor our courageous founder's legacy and can do spirit, Can Do MS has established the Jimmie Heuga Can Do Spirit Fund used to provide people with financial assistance to attend our lifestyle empowerment programs.
As we continue to develop new programming to complement our CAN DO® and JUMPSTART® programs, it is important that they be accessible to everyone, and that financial concerns never stop someone from discovering the power to be more than their MS.
"We are excited to announce The Jimmie Heuga Can Do Spirit Fund as a way for people to support others' participation in our many programs and services," said Can Do MS CEO Kim Sharkey. "So often we hear from past program participants that they want to 'pay it forward.' This is the perfect opportunity to ensure that regardless of means, people can attend our programs."
The CAN DO Program alumni group voted on the name through the Heuganauts, a Yahoo! email-based group of CAN DO Program alumni.
