FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
6TH ANNUAL RED ROCKS CENTURY CYCLING EVENT SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 9th
Can Do MS is a beneficiary for 2014
Denver, CO. (July 15, 2014) – Can Do Multiple Sclerosis is one of two charities that will benefit from the proceeds of the Red Rocks Century bike challenge.
For five years the Red Rocks Century, formerly the Healing Wheels Tour, has been known as the toughest and most scenic of the Colorado Front Range cycling events. This year’s event, held on August 9th, is once again pulling out all the stops and offering something new!
This year, riders can choose from four great rides to make the day as challenging as they want. Go big with the full 100 mile century, or chose from one of the other three options: the 62 mile metric century, a 50 mile half-century or the 33 mile Challenge ride. No matter their choice, riders will experience epic terrain as they ride through and around Front Range landmarks including Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks Park, as well as the mountain towns of Idledale, Kittridge, Evergreen, Idaho Springs, and Morrison.
“Century riders will get to experience areas of the Front Range few have seen before,” said Pat Mayben, director – events and sponsorships from Primal Wear. “The Upper Bear Creek and Witter Gulch Road connection to Squaw Pass Road from downtown Evergreen is one of the most beautiful stretches of road in Colorado!”
Also new this year:
“We are very excited about the relocation of our finish line to downtown Morrison,” said Morgan Landers, ride director. “We feel it elevates the energy of the finish line, provides exposure to our sponsors and local businesses, and allows us to provide the best end-cap to a ride anyone would ask for!”
Red Rocks Century, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization powered by a volunteer-only Board of Directors and Committee. Working in partnership with its corporate sponsors and dedicated riders, 100 percent of proceeds from the ride go to benefit Hope Communities and Can Do Multiple Sclerosis.
Registration options include the ride with a jersey ($130), without a jersey ($80), or chose the best option and pledge to raise a minimum of $150 for a reduced fee ($60) and the jersey is included. Prices go up on ride day. To register, visit http://www.getevent.com/races/event/44785/2014-Red-Rocks-Century-Morrison-CO.
