Edwards, Colo • September 25, 2012 – Lace up the skates and join us for the 5th Annual MS Skate-A-Thon! Skaters will gather at the Eagle Ice Rink on Saturday, October 13th from 5 - 7 pm to raise money for Can Do Multiple Sclerosis’s lifestyle empowerment programs for people and families living with MS.
"MS Skate-A-Thon is an event I created to bring together our local community and get them involved in supporting the mission behind Can Do MS,” says Tara Lane, Can Do MS staff, event organizer and local figure skating and hockey power skating coach. “This event offers a great opportunity to give back and help more people living with MS attend a Can Do MS program with the funds we raise.”
Skaters will collect as many pledges as possible leading up to the event. Pledges are typically given in flat amounts or per lap skated during the two hour event. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate and skate rentals are available. Walk-ins may participate and skate by making a simple donation at the event. Don’t skate? Participate just by raising money or supporting a skater! Prizes will be given to the top fundraisers including a Chicago Blackhawks jersey signed by Jonathan Toews to the overall top fundraiser!
The 5th annual MS Skate-A-Thon is presented by Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.
