2013 CMSC (The Consortium of MS Centers) Annual Meeting Wrap-Up!
By: Jenn Myers, Director of Marketing and Communications

    Hi All!

It was great to meet so many new people and hang out with old friends, past participants and our Programs Consultants in Orlando at the 27th Annual Meeting of the CMSC! The Can Do MS team had an amazing time networking and learning more about MS research and education. The education, speakers, vendors, and all the little details were top notch – even the palm trees!

Here are some can do highlights:Holly-&-Jenn-CMSC-Poster_WEB

    • CMSC Poster Session and Supper – We proudly presented our Examination of JUMPSTART® Program: Can Do MS's One Day Lifestyle Empowerment Program outcomes in the Symptom Management Category.  During the session, we shared our findings from this study that proved our participants gained connections to others and learned about resources to help them live fully with MS!  Click here to see the poster.
    • We represented! Our own Can Do MS Programs Consultants presented program sessions throughout the four days.  One session in particular was the Interdisciplinary Teamwork to Manage the Complex Patient. All panel speakers were from the can do team: Rosalind Kalb, phD; David Rintell, EdD; George Garmany, MD (also a board member), Gail Hartley, MSN, NP, MSCN, Deborah Miller, PhD, LISW and Amanda Rohrig, PT, DPT.
    • Our own Pat Kennedy, RN, CNP, MSCN (Nurse Educator & Programs Consultant) kept herself busy presenting three sessions throughout the conference. Way to go Pat!
    • Thanks to all the Programs Consultants who visited our booth and for all your support and expertise.  You truly are the power behind our programs!candospiel_WEB
    • Heidi, Holly and I really enjoyed meeting everyone that came by our Can Do MS booth to learn more about Can Do MS’s lifestyle empowerment programs. Many new people signed up for our emails, so they can get involved.  We are working on getting back to everyone that requested more information on Can Do MS.

Thanks again to everyone who came by our booth. We hope it gave you an insight of what our programs are all about – education, empowerment, challenges, confidence and new friendships.

We can’t wait for next year – CMSC 2014!
    Much can do love,

Director of Marketing, Can Do MS
