    15th Annual Heuga Center Golf Tournament raises funds for multiple sclerosis

    Edwards, Colo. • June 13, 2008 –  The 15th Annual Heuga Center Golf Tournament, presented by Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, raised funds for people and families living with multiple sclerosis (MS) June 9, 2008 at the Cordillera Mountain Course.  Proceeds will fund The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis’ health and wellness programs that empower people and families living with MS to transform and improve their quality of life.  The Heuga Center’s nationally-renowned programs are five-day CAN DO two-day CAN DO 2 and one-day JUMPSTART.  The Center’s CAN DO program is in Vail, Colo., November 5-9 at The Lodge at Vail. 

    “Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate is proud to work in conjunction with The Heuga Center and support its efforts to help people with MS live a healthy life,” said Cara Connolly, Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate’s public relations specialist.  “We donate to over 50 local charities annually and we are proud to celebrate our 4th year as the presenting sponsor of the Annual Heuga Center Golf Tournament.  Quality of life is important to us and we believe it is hard to beat in the Vail Valley.”

    Mike Spear, Rick Pirog, Kirk Van Hee, Ed Levy were the top grossing team members who won the grand prize trip to La Costa Golf Resort in California.  The team topped a field of 23 teams in the scramble tournament.

    MS is the most common neurological disease among adults between the ages of 20 and 40.  It’s an unpredictable disease that attacks the central nervous system.  Symptoms can include numbness in the limbs, fatigue and loss of vision.  The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted.
